Week 3 in Room 16

This week was national Bullying Free Week. As a class, we brainstormed what we can each do to help prevent bullying behaviour. We also brainstormed what makes us feel valued and how we know we belong.

Mathletics Champions: Week 3

For the very first time in Room 16 history, we have a tie for the Mathletics champion of the week! Well done to those of you who got to 1,500 points this week, and a special congratulations to our class champions ...

Uniform Reminder

Dear Parents / Caregivers

We've all noticed the weather start to get a bit colder, a bit wetter, and a bit windier. The Tui Team teachers have also notices that students are wearing footless tights under their shorts and/or skivvies under their school polos. Please remember that any items worn under school uniform of this nature should be navy blue.

Speeches!

For homefun over the next four to five weeks, students will be expected to be working on a persuasive speech to present to the class. The best will be selected for the finals which will take place in Week 9 of Term 2.

Below the link you will find pdf documents outlining the expectations and with handy hints to help you write the best speech possible. If you cannot see the documents, please make sure you are logged in to you Reremoana School account. If you would like a hard copy of the document, please let Mr W know and he will organise this for you :)

Please note that Year 4 students are expected to present a 2 minute speech, Year 5s 2 and a half minutes.

Week Two

This week Room 16 had a couple of new and exciting things take place. In maths, we've started cross grouping across Tui Team, and will do so for most of the rest if this term. In reading, we tried out doing reading using a Learning Pathway. This means that the children have the option of choosing when and how they complete their tasks for the week. It was great to see the kids get stuck in and doing their best. In fact, one of our students was so successful that he was sent over to see Ms Fothergill for a Celebration. Find out who this was below the link...

Mathletics Champions

Our Mathletics this week was not our best. While many people clearly worked hard, there was a good number that did not get the expected 1,500 points. Have a look below the link to see who our stand out stars were this week.

Back Again: Week One, Term Two

What an action-packed first week back! It's fairly flown by.

For many of us, the best part of our first week was probably the Circus Day on Tuesday. We had a performance of juggling, unicycle-riding, and acrobatic tricks. Audience members from Tui Team (and some teachers) got asked to help out and be involved!

After morning tea, we got our turn to have a go at learning tricks ourselves! Have a look below to see more pictures of all the fun we had!

Mathletics Champions: Week One, Term Two

Well done everyone who made it to 1,500 points this week! I can see that many of you worked hard on your tasks and on Mathletics Live - well done to you all.
